My First Purse Finished!

Last weekend I made my first purse using the Boho Baguette pattern.

I am also going to make the Encore Purse Insert to use inside this purse to give it a more stable shape plus to organize all my stuff. The fabric I used for the interior and inset of the purse handles is a pretty cotton batik look that has little sprakles in it. I am going to make the purse insert with the same pink fabric.

"Among The Leaves" Quilt Top Finished

To make each of the quilt blocks I hand dyed each individual block the colors I wanted, traced the pictures onto the blocks, colored the pictures using crayons, heat set them to remove the wax and then embroidered the outlines of the pictures. This quilt was alot of fun. I made all the blocks about 2 years ago.

Baby Photo Albums

This week I took my basket of baby gifts to Maria for the birth of her new first baby girl Esperanza. In the basket was all the things I made consisting of the whole cloth crib quilt, baby slippers and two baby photo albums for the grandmothers. The quilt and baby slippers are shown in older posts of mine.

The baby albums are identical except for a few little touches here and there. I made crazy quilt covers out of various baby fabrics and embellished the seams with stitches using my Janome sewing machine. I had stitched beads, added baby themed charms and silk ribbon embroider.

Baby Slippers

A few weeks ago while surfing the Internet I came across a free pattern for baby shoes. http://www.maked.ca/tutorials.html A friend of mine just had her first baby a couple of days ago and thought for fun I would try making a pair. After making the first shoe, they are very addicting!! Being reversible makes them more fun! After making the first 4 pairs I then wanted to do a shoe with silk ribbon embroidery it. Then since I love crazy quilting I decided the baby just has to have some cq slippers!!! This baby's doll might be wearing these in the years to come!

My First Whole Cloth Quilt

My first whole cloth quilt!! I made this for my friend who is having her first baby. I stitched it entirely by hand.

Just finished the last stitch yesterday after putting the binding on this crib sized whole cloth quilt I made for my friend Maria. I've been working on this the whole 9 months she has been pregnat andyesterday at 6 PM she was on her way to the hospital. I havn't heard anynews yet this morning to know if the baby has arrived yet or not.This was my first whole cloth quilt to do. I quilted it entirely by hand andthe only part that was sewn on the machine was when I was sewing on thebinding. I had just emailed her yesterday and told her that I was going to have the babies gift finished up and to tell the baby to be born!!

Last night I washed the makings out of it and dryed it. I love the way hand quilting looks!

My next whole cloth quilt will by for myself and a queen size!
