The mauve is Michael Micheners Fairy Frost fabric and the outer sashing is another Thomas Kinkade floral print.

Ginger and Oscar in My Sewing Room

Dachshund Quilt Top

I have the quilt top pieced now. Last night I added the batting/backing and in the process of basting it all together for the quilting.

Another Dishtowel Dress

Using a huck cloth dishtowel, I was able to make a dainty little dishtowel for a friends birthday. I used a cotton flower fairy print fabric for the bodice.

Dachshunds for Baby Quilt Project

Yesterday I started a new quilt project. These little dachshund and bone silhouettes are for a baby quilt I started working on yesterday. A friend at the office has recently announced she is now expecting a baby. She loves dachhunds and has 4 of her own so I wanted to see what I could design with dachshunds on a baby quilt. Searching the internet I could not find any patterns for a dachshund baby quilt so yesterday I played with some easy shapes from some pictures of dachshunds I found. I liked the shape here that I used the best. I drew up the bone shape to use as alternate blocks.
Wednesday night I found the fabric with the paws on it at JoAnn's and picked out 8 calico fabrics to match the colors of the paws. Last night I machine appliqued 4 of the blocks. The blocks are 8" x 12".

Plastic Bag Dispensers

I made these last weekend. The one with the birdhouse on it is for the reqular size plastic grocery bags and the black one is for smaller bags.

"Baskets and More Baskets" Workshop

These are the first 4 blocks of my "Baskets and More Baskets" quilt. I am participating in an online 4 month workshop with CD Designs. Each Saturday I receive instructions for the next block to make and have kept up with them so far.
I am just using the blue fabric as a back ground for taking pictures of the blocks. The sashing fabric that will be around the blocks is a yellow fabric with little flowers on it.

Table Runner for Valentine's Day

Last weekend I made this Valentine themed table runner. On this one I did a "loop-d-loop" free motion quilting design.

Valentine Dish Towel Dress

I made 4 of these little dish towel dresses that will be given away as gifts. I bought the Valentine themed dish towels and fabric at my local JoAnn's Fabric store. They were fun to make. Next I will make some for St. Patrick's Day.
