"Among The Leaves" Quilt Top Finished

To make each of the quilt blocks I hand dyed each individual block the colors I wanted, traced the pictures onto the blocks, colored the pictures using crayons, heat set them to remove the wax and then embroidered the outlines of the pictures. This quilt was alot of fun. I made all the blocks about 2 years ago.

Sounds like a lot of work, but the pictures are wonderful.

The quilt looks beautiful. That technique sounds like fun. Of course, I don't have the drawing ability you have. My grandkids would love my stick figures and fantasy flowers, I'm sure.

I am a leaf lover, myself - even do pottery tile molds, etc. with them (via classes at Laguna Gloria). I had no idea there were any CQ ladies in Austin!! So glad to find you. I love this piece you're showing.
